Half Marathon = 4 Days Away!! 10/13/2010
Hi Everyone, First I have to apologize for neglecting this blog! Things have been so busy lately. I'm sure you can all relate, since I know most of my blog readers are Moms with kids, or people with full-time jobs, or both! Busy, busy, busy!! Right now, I'm multitasking...part of my brain is planning tonight's bootcamp class, part of my brain is meal-planning for my family for the rest of the week, I'm blogging, but I'm supposed to be doing laundry (well, it is in the machine!), and I'm also supposed to be running! Meanwhile, I'm also watching live coverage of the Chilean miners being rescued from so far underground. We're so far away, but I can't help getting emotional watching the rescue of these brave men! My final 3.2k run before the big day of the Half Marathon (this Sunday!) is scheduled for today. I've been following the Hal Higdon's Plan for Novice Half Marathon runners. I've followed his training program just about to a tee, so I'm really hoping Hal knows what he's talking about!! I will find out on Sunday. I was a little scared when I saw pics of the route I'll be running. I was told that there aren't many hills along the route, and I'm a little scared of hills, since we have no hills around here to train on, and I like to know what to expect. Then, I saw this pic on Facebook... Seriously, YIKES!! But, I think this is the biggest hill (thanks Deanne for checking that out for me!), so I will pump my arms (thanks for the tip Judy!), and do my best to run up it! It's at the beginning of the run, so I should have lots of energy at that point. The rest of the run looks absolutely gorgeous from the pics. Here a few more I stole off the Facebook page from last year's run... Doesn't it look pretty??! The forecast is perfect for this Sunday, so I'm hoping for the best! I just want to say a big thank you to all of you that have encouraged me, supported me, and inspired me with all of my fundraising, training etc. NEW PROGRAM UPDATE I'm putting a NEW Fitness Program together, Amy Gangl from Parks and Rec and I are just coordinating the final details now. It will begin Monday, November 1st and run for 6 weeks. The program will include a Nutrition Seminar and Grocery Store tour, as well as 2 nutrition coaching sessions. And, 12 fitness classes - 2 per week. Once the details are finalized, I will post the info on my website. I hope you're all enjoying the gorgous fall colours! Bye for now, Dawn :) 1 Comment | DawnSharing information to help you improve your lifestyle. Also, delicious recipes that are healthy AND yummy! ArchivesDecember 2010 CategoriesAll |
